KOREAN LASH LIFT: RETENTION & AFTERCARE

KOREAN LASH LIFT: RETENTION & AFTERCARE

To get the most out of your lash lifts, it's important for artists to inform your clients on what to expect, how to properly care for lash lifts immediately after the appointment, and what to avoid in their everyday routines to ensure long lasting results.

HOW LONG DOES A LASH LIFT LAST?

A lash lift typically lasts around six to eight weeks, though this can vary depending on several factors:

  • Client's natural growth cycle
  • Lash condition before the service
  • Aftercare consistency

WHAT TO EXPECT

As natural lashes shed and new ones grow in, the lifted look gradually softens. This is completely normal. A well-executed Korean lash lift often grows out in a particularly graceful way because the shape starts softer and more natural to begin with.

POST LASH LIFT CARE

Once the lashes have been lifted, set, removed from the shield, and nourished, your client should leave understanding how to protect the result. Unless the specific product line states otherwise, most lash lift systems benefit from avoiding the following for the first 24 hours:

  • Getting the lashes wet
  • Steam (hot showers, saunas, steam rooms)
  • Excessive heat
  • Heavy oils

This initial 24 hour period helps the lashes fully settle into their new shape and reduces the risk of disrupting the result too soon.

AT-HOME CARE

Share these guidelines with your clients to help them get the most out of their service:

DO'S

  • Keep the eye area clean and free of buildup
  • Brush lashes gently if needed (and only when necessary)
  • Use a nourishing, lash-safe serum if your lift system supports it

DON'TS

  • Avoid rubbing or pulling at the lashes
  • Avoid harsh cleansing products
  • Avoid heavy, oily residues around the eyes
  • Avoid frequent friction or touching

REPEAT SERVICES

Clients who love lash lifts often want to maintain them regularly, which means your technique must support repeat-safe services. If lashes are overprocessed, curled too tightly, or lifted too frequently without proper assessment, the natural lashes can become weaker over time. A softer, healthier approach is not just safer, it's better for your lash business. It creates clients who can:

  • Return confidently for repeat appointments
  • Trust your professional judgment
  • Continue seeing beautiful results over multiple services

A Korean lash lift isn't just about the immediate result. It's about how the lashes look weeks later, how they grow out, and how they hold up over multiple appointments. When you combine gentle technique with proper aftercare education, you set your clients up for long-term success.
