Easy Fan Lashes: Self-Fanning Lashes

Have you heard of easy fan lashes? They are exactly what they’re called! Easy to fan and they’re self-fanning! The lash industry is always coming out with new techniques, making it easier to speed up our service time and allow us to take more clients in a day! It could cut your time down in half when creating a volume set. There are so many different lash trays in the market like volume lashes, pre-made fans, LTR lashes, 2-layer lashes, easy fans, etc. Easy Fans are one of the products in the lash industry that have mixed reviews.

In this blog, we’ll talk about what easy fans are, the difference between them and regular volume lashes, and how to use them so you can see if they’re right for you!

What Are Easy Fan Lashes?

Easy fan lashes are made to speed up your appointment and also make it easier to make and apply your fan. If you’re new to volume and mega volume, these might be just for you! It can be quite tricky trying to make a fan and you may run into some loose lashes at first.  There is glue already bonded at the base so it doesn’t fall apart when picking it up off the strip. They are made of multiple layers of lashes instead of just one. This way, when you grab it off the strip, they form into one layer and spread out easily into a fan.

What is the Difference Between Easy Fan Lashes and Regular Lashes?

The primary difference between easy fans and regular lashes is in their base construction. Easy fans are pre-bonded, meaning the individual lashes are already attached at the base. This results in a boxier base compared to regular lashes. When applying easy fans, it is important to avoid picking up too many lashes at once, as this can create a thick base that may stress the natural lash and increase the likelihood of lashes sticking together. The appropriate number of lashes to pick up will depend on the diameter being used.

Regular lashes, on the other hand, consist of a single layer and are not pre-bonded. Their bases are loose, requiring precise pressure when picking them up with tweezers to ensure that all lashes are secured and to prevent stray hairs.

Application techniques also differ between the two types. Easy fans have a glue barrier at the base, which can make it more difficult to wrap the fan around the natural lash. Regular, handmade fans allow for wrapping, which can improve retention when properly applied. Understanding these differences helps in selecting the appropriate lash type for the desired look and application method.

How Do I Use Easy Fan Lashes?

This method is called on the strip method.

  1. Pick up the lashes: Remove the lashes from the strip by lifting them toward yourself, taking care not to pick too high on the strip, as this can cause the fan to break apart.
  2. Reset the lashes on the strip: Place the lashes back on the strip with the base aligned straight. The strip is slightly adhesive to hold the lashes in place. Avoid placing the lashes too high on the strip to prevent them from sticking to other lashes.
  3. Spread the fan: Close the volume tweezer and use the back portion of the tweezers to gently spread the fan. Wiggle lightly from side to side to create an even, open fan shape.
  4. Apply adhesive and lash: Pick up the fan from the strip (again, not too high),  dip the base in adhesive, and carefully apply it to the natural lash.
