HOW TO PROTECT YOUR LASH EXTENSIONS DURING A BEACH DAY
There is nothing better than a day at the beach. Warm sunshine, ocean breezes, and relaxing by the water make summer one of the best times of the year. The good news is that having lash extensions does not mean you have to skip any of the fun. With the right care, your lashes can stay full, fluffy, and beautiful all season long.

We want your clients to get the most out of their lash extensions. Here are our top beach day tips to help protect your lashes from sun, sand, saltwater, and everything else that comes with a day by the shore.
1. Wait 24 to 48 Hours After Your Appointment
If you recently had a fresh lash set or fill, avoid swimming and excessive moisture for the first 24 to 48 hours, depending on your lash artist's recommendations. This gives the adhesive time to fully cure and helps ensure maximum retention.
Planning a beach trip? Try to schedule your appointment a few days before your outing whenever possible to give you time to adjust to the new extensions!
2. Wear Sunglasses for Extra Protection
A stylish pair of sunglasses does more than complete your beach look. Sunglasses help shield your lash extensions from direct UV exposure, wind, and blowing sand.
Large-framed sunglasses can also reduce the chances of you rubbing your eyes throughout the day, which is one of the quickest ways to damage lash extensions.

3. Rinse Away Saltwater After Swimming
Saltwater can leave residue on your lashes that may affect retention over time. After taking a swim, gently rinse your face with fresh water to remove any salt buildup.
Once your lashes are dry, use a clean lash brush to softly fluff them back into place.
4. Be Careful with Sunscreen
Sunscreen is essential for protecting your skin, but it can be challenging for lash extensions. Oil-based sunscreens and products applied too close to the eyes can break down lash adhesive and cause premature shedding.
Choose oil-free formulas whenever possible and apply sunscreen carefully around the eye area. Avoid getting sunscreen directly on your lashes.
5. Keep Sand Away from Your Eyes
Sand and lash extensions are not the perfect match. If sand gets trapped near your lash line, resist the urge to rub your eyes.
Instead, rinse your eyes gently with clean water and allow the particles to wash away naturally. Rubbing can cause extensions to twist, fall out, or damage your natural lashes.
6. Clean Your Lashes After a Beach Day
One of the best things you can do for your lash extensions is to clean them regularly. After spending the day at the beach, your lashes may collect salt, sunscreen residue, sweat, and environmental debris.
Use a lash-safe cleanser, such as our cleaner concentrate or lash shampoo to gently wash your extensions and keep them fresh. Clean lashes not only look better but also help improve retention and support healthy natural lashes.
7. Avoid Touching or Pulling at Your Lashes
Long days outdoors can sometimes leave your eyes feeling irritated, especially if there is wind or sand in the air. Even so, avoid touching, pulling, or picking at your lash extensions.
The less you handle your lashes, the longer they are likely to last.
Enjoy the Beach Without Worrying About Your Lashes
Lash extensions are designed to fit into your lifestyle, including beach vacations, pool days, and summer adventures. By following a few simple precautions, you can enjoy everything summer has to offer while keeping your lashes looking their best.
